Now you're cooking... with KANJI!

What can I say, I'm on a roll. A combined effort of Google Translate (about time they added that 'draw' function. Jeebus.), Denshi Jisho and Weblio has unlocked all the information. Every appliance is different, so, I figger the more pages we get with this information for frustrated folks, the better.

Rice Cooker (炊飯器)

保温-Insulate (keep warm)                                                白米急速- White rice rapidly

I was instructed to always rinse my rice thoroughly before putting it in the rice cooker using a strainer and a pot. Put the rice in the bottom of the pot with a little water and “scrub” it until the water turns white, then pour it all in the strainer to get rid of the dirty water. Repeat until the water is clear.
Treat yourself and set the timer and you'll have rice ready and waiting for you when you get home for dinner.

保温設定- Hot water setting                                           7時間タイマー – 7 hour timer

Fill 'er up to the 'maximum' line indicated inside, select the desired temperature by pressing 保温設定 and you will have hot water in about 10 minutes.
To dispense the water, press
ロック解除 (top LED will turn on) then press and hold 給湯.Fill it up and press the 7時間タイマー button to delay heating the water for 7 hours.

To begin: open the door and close it, you should get a '0' on the screen just like the above picture.
Select the mode you wish to use. I've only ever used the 'oven' mode, so you use the “
温度/仕上がり” buttons to select the desired pre-heat temperature and press “あたため/スタート”. It will beep when ready. Pop your food in, set the timer and Bob's your uncle.

The drawer on the left with the little red LED next to it is part of the emergency cut-off. If there's too much smoke or the D-cell batteries are running low, it will cut off the gas and beep.
The smokeless grill is great for broiling meat, just add some water into the tray before you start and the meat doesn't get dried out. You ignite the grill the same way as the other elements, but sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it to catch properly. The first time to let some gas out into the range area, and the second to ignite the gas. Leave it running on for a few seconds to allow the whole area to catch before turning it down.
