Let's enjoy... heating and cooling!

Here's the remote for my "ルームエアコン" (ruumu eakon).

There's not really anything I can tell you beyond translating the kanji.
Change operation
Fan operation
Fan direction
Heat
: Off                                                                                冷房: Cool
: On                                                                                 送風: Ventilation
Reservation (delayed start)                                        : Strong

Time                                                                          : Gentle breeze

Commence button mashing!
(I hope the formatting is okay, I lack sufficient HTML knowledge to code columns)

And now for the control panel on my ストーブ (sutoubu), aka Kerosene heater.

残分 – Time remaining                                                  時間後 – Time delay
Temperature/Timer adjust
チャイルドロック(CL)3秒押し – Child lock (CL) press or 3 seconds
Power off/on

The heater automatically shuts off after it's run for 3 hours. Press the “ 3時間延長” button to keep it going.
The “タイマー” is super handy for cold winter morning when you really don't want to crawl out of the toasty covers. I liked to have it set to turn on a half hour before my alarm went off to quickly heat up the bed/living room. It heats the apartment up much more quickly than the wall unit, so I usually started with this while the other unit warmed up. The annoying thing is that you can't have it running when you have the timer function selected.
The cheapest place I found to purchase kerosene in town is Kanbun Home Centre (かんぶんホームセンター, I've marked it on the google map.) It's not the cheapest way to heat the apartment, but it is the fastest. Be sure to ventilate so you don't poison yourself. There are vents in the living/bedroom, their buttons are on the wall next to the a/c-heater remote.
...yes, that's a small container of play-do on next to my heater....
