Weekend escape to Hirosaki pt1

I got the offer to go on a weekend adventure with some other ALTs this past weekend... And as long as updating by smartphone doesn't make me too angry, I'll bring y'all up to speed!

We set out on our journey Saturday morning and hit up the international festival in Itanyanagi (think micro Folklorama) met a Scottish JET named James. Yay! There was short bread and black tea. I was pleased.

Omnomnomnom

Next on our travels was Inakadate to see some crazy rice art. From what we gathered from the info provided, they plan it all out ahead of time and plant different types of rice and grow it in the design. Wowee!

Up close!

We then checked out the playground near the second rice art venue and road some 100¥ bumper cars. Tooooo much fun!

OMG playground!!!

My Sweet ride.

Then it was off to Hirosaki to see the castle (well... the tower that remains of it)
